Job description
Are you the experienced Privacy Officer/Consultant with a passion for privacy and security? Do you want to work at a company that focuses on the latest developments in cybersecurity, privacy, and related legislation? Then this role is for you!
What you do
As a Senior Consultant Privacy & Digital Regulations Consultant, you are responsible for protecting the privacy of our clients and their end users. In this role, we expect you to be not only strong in content, but also to take on a strategic and leadership role within our team and organization. You will play a key role in developing and implementing products and serve as a point of contact for complex, strategic privacy issues. Additionally, you will work at the intersection of privacy and security, providing advice on laws and regulations in your daily tasks.
This makes the role not only versatile but also dynamic: you will be continuously engaged in interpreting and applying legislation in a fast-changing legal and technical landscape. You will carry out projects for our clients (such as DPIAs, GDPR Assessments, and PIMS implementations) and have the opportunity to develop new products to further assist our clients. As a result, every day brings new challenges, and no two days are the same. Together with our team of specialists, you will ensure that our clients are in control of their privacy.
The team
As a consultant, you will be part of the advisory team. As a team, we always aim for a high-quality yet pragmatic approach, where the advice is implemented into a workable solution. We avoid lengthy and bureaucratic documentation and focus on achieving the best and most practical result possible. The team consists of 15+ consultants, each with their own area of expertise. Additionally, we work closely with other teams within Northwave and always strive for an integrated approach. We have strong ambitions in this domain, including internationally. To achieve this, growth in expertise, seniority, and further professionalization of the team is necessary.
You like to have
- Room for Development: With us, you'll have plenty of opportunities to develop yourself, both technically and legally. This includes training, certifications, and knowledge sharing within our team of experts.
- A Technically Challenging Environment: At Northwave, we work as one team. As a Privacy Officer, you’ll also be involved in broader cybersecurity issues and can further develop yourself in both technical and security aspects.
- Impactful Projects: Work on projects that have a significant impact for our diverse client portfolio and play a key role in their privacy and security strategies.
- Flexibility: We offer flexible working hours and the option to work remotely part of the time, so you can find the balance that works best for you.
What you can expect
- Macbook, iPhone and lease car
- A market-based salary, depending on your knowledge and experience.
- 25 vacation days
- Good pension scheme
- Company-wide courses and individual training opportunities to further develop yourself
- More than 275 passionate colleagues to work with and learn from

Job requirements
- Several years (5+) of experience as a privacy consultant, or in a similar role.
- Expertise in privacy management, relevant standards and legislation. But most importantly; we are looking for someone with a real passion for the profession. A ‘vakidioot’ as we call it within Northwave, with an ‘expert leadership’ influence on the team.
- Affinity with technology and cybersecurity;
- Proficiency in Dutch and English, both spoken and written.
- Extensive experience in project management and stakeholder management;
- Strong communication and persuasion skills, with a customer-oriented approach;
- The ability to translate complex legislation into concrete, practical advice;
