Job description

Your mission

As a Lead Business Security Consultant, you advise clients on the most suitable and cost-effective measures for security risks. You bridge the gap between security and the business of the organisation. In doing so, you make the client aware of their governance responsibility and provide insight into the current situation. You present your advice to the board of the organisation and lead to concrete decision-making and implementation of possible improvements. You are that strategic sparring partner to the client.

The projects you work on are diverse and relate to topics such as security management (ISO 27001), risk management, compliance with standards and frameworks (BSI Grundschutz, ISO 27001) or cyber security legislation (NIS2, DORA), and of course Northwave’s total holistic approach to intelligent security operations. Your role can vary from conducting an assessment, managing and contributing to an implementation or an advisory role. Within these projects, we regularly collaborate with experts from other teams within Northwave.

You also ensure that the client acts on the given advice. You play a crucial role in identifying potential consultancy opportunities for Northwave. Always from a ‘consultative selling mindset;  where the added value for the client comes first. The clients you work with vary in size from medium-large to large international companies, in various sectors.

In addition to working for our customers, you will also manage a small team of business consultants. You keep an eye on the project pipelines, enhance efficiency, stay in contact with your neighboring business units and report to the DACH management. This also gets you involved in the further development of our services. You think outside the box and find the connection between processes, technology and people, or as we call it - Business, Bytes, Behaviour.

Together with over 275+ security enthusiasts, you help companies to protect themselves against cyber attacks.

What can you expect from us?

Contract
First things first: you will receive a permanent employment contract with 30 days' holiday per year. You can organise your own working hours in consultation with your colleagues and customers.

Development
What do you want to achieve and what support do you need? You will receive regular training and support in achieving your professional goals. You can also develop further within Northwave.

Team
It is important to us to respect and value each other - as professionals and as people. The best way to get to know your 275+ colleagues is to take part in one of our many activities, e.g. a joined trip to the theme park.

Equipment
You will be equipped with a modern MacBook and iPhone. We have height-adjustable desks in our offices and our CEO loves to kit us out with merchandise ;-)

Mobility
In order to be mobile at all times, you will receive either a company car or a BahnCard 100 (also for private use).

what else...
No, the fruit basket in the office is not a benefit for us, but a matter of course - just like coffee, tea and lemonade. Have you ever tried Dutch caramel waffles?

Job requirements

The most important thing for us is that you fit into the team and are keen to help shape and advance Northwave. Of course, we also have a few technical requirements for this position.

Education

Do you have a relevant degree, e.g. in business administration, business informatics, security management or similar? Ideally, you have additional qualifications in (e.g. lead auditor).

Knowledge and experience

Do you have extensive professional experience in the areas of information security, risk management and profound experience as business consultant? At best you already bring leadership experience.

Other strengths

You combine strong business insight with leadership skills to effectively boost efficiency and impact. You enjoy working hands-on, both on concepts and on their implementation in close dialogue with your customers and colleagues. You work independently and in a well-structured manner. You have very good German and good English skills.
